Our Purpose

The Rustic Cross Company is a missionary support business currently running out of our home in St. Louis, MO. Among other gifts, I use my crafting talents as the Apostle Paul used his skills to make tents, which supported his work for God when needed. So each product on this site has but one purpose: to promote the message of the Cross. When you purchase from my site, you support my family and enable me to work with the struggling people of our city who can rarely afford to give financially because they are in such need.

The Story of An Artist

Rustic came from humble beginnings. In 1994, while living in Indianapolis, IN with my good friend and talented composer Jon Wiley, we happened upon a polymer clay at an art store that would harden in a normal oven. Right then, I was inspired to create my own clay cross necklaces to support my ministry at that time. After a few bucks spent and some lengthy experimentation, my first cross necklace was made. Since that time, I have traveled accross the midwest ministering, selling hundreds of crosses of all kinds. Some were from molds, some from other cross designs and some one of a kind original "masterpieces", but all were wonderful and a blessing for me to make.

But It was the message of the cross that I wanted to convey to the world, and I am still learning the message of it for myself today. Jesus said that when He was lifted up from the earth, all men would be drawn unto Him. I believe that. I believe that God draws us all to Him to save us from death. I believe Jesus is truly the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world because of His compassion for us all. My crosses are but a symbol of that great, mysterious love.

And now, after years of ministering alone, I have my own family to support. That is why I have put together this site, that I can continue to earn my keep as I promote the cross through my skills as an artist. I appreciate each and every one of you who purchase from me, and pray that whatever form of the cross you buy from this site would be a blessing not only to you or to whom you gift it to, but to everyone else who may see it as well.
